Together we're Limitless

In just one year, Drifter's Hearts of Hope has rescued 37 unwanted, slaughter-bound horses.  Most of the horses who have made their way to the Funny Farm (DHOH headquarters) have required a great deal of rehabilitation and compassion.  We're happy to report that as of today, Drifter's Hearts of Hope has re-homed 19 of these 37 precious lives, and very soon that number will go up to 20.

Limitless, is lucky #20.  He is the big grey gelding pictured below. With his adoption currently pending, Limitless is a reminder to all of us that even a small horse community can make a huge impact and save a life.  The children at DHOH have worked very hard to raise funds and care for their rescues, and the efforts of volunteers, friends, neighbors, and community have yielded the many success stories.  Each person involved, has contributed in their own way.  Whether it be through fostering, donating, hauling, providing care, and the list goes on, these horses have been saved by a wonderful community.  DHOH is truly grateful for the overwhelming support to rescue and re-home these beautiful horses.

Currently, DHOH would like to SHARE with the horse community the 7 wonderful horses who are ready for forever loving homes.  We're networking to spread the word about these awesome horses. In the coming months, the remaining 9 horses who are in quarantine/foster will be evaluated and placed for adoption within the rescue, so keep an eye out for them as well!

Limitless - adoption pending!

Top Gun - companion horse. Top Gun is only 7 years old. He is an easy keeper, and doesn't require any special care. But because he's a Wobbler, he can not be ridden. Very sweet gelding who gets along well with others, minds his manners, and can't wait to be someone's companion. No special care needed. Available now for adoption or long-term foster.

Spirit - 5 yr old Appaloosa mare. We can't believe she hasn't been picked up yet! Super sound, going well under saddle, introduced to jumping and she loves it, 14hh, no vices, just needs miles. This is a super sweet mare, a mover, and she's UTD on everything and ready to ride. Adoption fee $1000 to approved home only

Dart - 6 yr old paint gelding, sweet as can be. Dart will be best suited as a lead line horse for kids. He has a soundness issue that will prevent him from working hard... And his heart isn't in being a working horse. Sound at a walk and is super friendly... Will follow you around like a puppy. Very good looking horse... Will draw attention in the lead line class! Adoption fee: $750 to approved home

Christmas - 9yr old Welsh/Paint (pony) mare. Christmas is incredibly sweet. She has been through quite a journey and will need a special home where she can be someone's companion. She does require some special care due to an old injury. Her prior injuries do not seem to bother her, but she cannot be ridden, so this little gal is best suited as a companion. $450

Lily - gorgeous mare with attitude and spunk. Lily has been with a professional trainer, and was adopted out earlier this year. She has returned to us as she requires a very experienced confident rider who can work with her on a regular basis. Lily has shown us huge potential, but needs someone who can take her all the way. Available for adoption in June.

Island's angel - TB mare, tons of potential, going well under saddle and in training. She will be available for adoption soon.
